Are - that one over there
Dore - which
okay using these...these words in japanese are always followed up by the ending "wa", in case of interrogative demonstrative use ga. It depends on the distance of the item/object from the person/speaker.
kore wa terebi desu ka?
Is this a TV?
desu ka as you know, is a form of a "question mark" sort of ending, when ending with "ka" e.g masu ka, it usually turns the sentence into a question. So following this up..
desu - Is
ka - question
Kore wa - This
Terebi - TV
another e.g

Is that a TV?
now as it says, SORE means THAT.
